Volvo Event Management – Brand Value - Delivered

Volvo Event Management is the in-house management company charged with the responsibility of planning and execution of Volvo’s strategic sponsorship portfolio.

Jointly owned by Volvo Car Corporation and Volvo Group, Volvo Event Management currently has four offices, in Brussels, Belgium, Whiteley in the UK, Hong Kong and Gothenburg in Sweden.

Such is the degree of distinctiveness of the Volvo brand in a sponsorship setting that in order to ensure the optimum positioning of the Volvo brand and the key messages it delivers and to promote and protect strategic events and initiatives under the Volvo umbrella, the in-house expertise, energy and effectiveness of Volvo Event Management is the chosen method of delivery.

Unique in the sponsorship sector, Volvo’s in-house application of its core sponsorship portfolio ensures the necessary specialisms from project and logistics management to internal and external communications, financial control, safeguarding and developing the reach of a unique brand and its values.

Volvo Event Management, Brussels:

This is the hub for Volvo’s award-winning golf portfolio, a centre of excellence that plans and manages the Volvo Masters, Volvo Masters of Asia, Volvo China Open and Volvo Masters Amateur.

VEM Brussels also assumes responsibility for coordinating global communications of all strategic and regional sponsorships within the Volvo portfolio.

Per Ericsson is recently (1st June 2008), appointed as the new president and CEO of Volvo Event Management.

Volvo Event Management, Whiteley:

The headquarters of the Volvo Ocean Race, VEM Whiteley not only delivers the sporting aspects of the world’s leading round-the-world race but also embraces other specialist sailing projects such as the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship.

Knut Frostad has been appointed as new CEO of the Volvo Ocean Race (February 2008).

Volvo Event Management, Hong Kong:

With the recent shift in emphasis towards Asia in general and China in particular, VEM Hong Kong interfaces with Volvo’s golf portfolio in the region, liaising with Volvo business units in the territory as well as coordinating organizational and promotional activities in relation to the Volvo China Open and the Volvo Masters of Asia.

Volvo Event Management, Gothenburg:

Is responsible for the implementation of Volvo’s cultural and heritage sponsorship programme and also assumes the role of interfacing with the various Volvo headquarters functions on utilization of the Volvo Ocean Race.

In addition to their key management functions, Volvo Event Management offices also provide key connections with relevant governing bodies of sport, project owners, venue operators and engage small specialist teams where necessary to deliver bespoke expertise as appropriate.
